Exhibits and Accolades 2010
Members of the Syracuse Camera Club regularly exhibit at local and regional venues like the Delavan Art Gallery, the Syracuse Technology Garden, the Warehouse Gallery, the
OCPL Central Library, the Liverpool Library, and other art spaces. An
asterisk (*) after the venue indicates wheelchair accessible, otherwise
call for accessibility details.

Exhibitions
Syracuse Camera Club Members:
- Bob Gates at the
Gandee
Gallery. The exhibit Holiday Show 09 started on
November 19, 2009 and runs to January 17, 2010.
- Richard Schultz and Bob
Gates will feature
prints at the
Delavan Art
Gallery*. The exhibit ART: 2003 - 2009 starts on
January 21 and runs through February 27.
- Chris Murray will be the
February Artist of the Month at the
Fayetteville Free Library* exhibiting nearly two dozen prints. A
reception will be held February 3rd from 5pm - 7pm at the library
and the exhibit runs through the month of February.
- SCC Members at the
May Memorial
Unitarian Church*. The exhibit features prints from SCC
members that can be purchased and will start on April 4 and runs to
April 30. Proceeds will benefit the SCC general fund. An opening
reception will be held on Wednesday April 7th from 7pm - 9pm. The
reception will feature the exhibited prints, matted prints and cards
for sale. Light refreshments will be served during the reception and
is open to the public.
- Kate Zacharewski - Three
photographs have been selected for the
Oswego Art Association Annual Juried Art Show and Exhibition
hosted at the
Oswego Civic Arts Center. The exhibit starts April 3 and runs to
April 25. The opening reception will be held on April 3rd from 7pm -
9pm with the award presentation starting at 8pm.
- Jim Brudrakey 4th Annual Flower
Exhibit at the
Central
Library in The Galleries of Syracuse* located in the Browse
About Area. The exhibit Psst... Hey, bud! features several
prints with two printed on aluminum media. The opening reception will be held on
Tuesday April 6th
from 5pm - 7pm and the exhibit runs through the month of April.
- Kate Zacharewski - The photograph Reflected Decay
has been selected for the
Cooperstown 19th Annual Essential Juried Art Show hosted by the
Cooperstown Art Association located in the Village Library
Building*, Cooperstown, NY. The exhibit starts May 7 and runs to
June 4. The opening reception will be held on May 7th from 5pm -
7pm.
- Elisabeth Groat will feature 12
prints at the
Limestone Art and Framing Gallery in Fayetteville. The exhibit
titled Interrelation starts June 11 and runs to July 23. An
opening reception will be held on June 11th from 6pm - 8pm. The
exhibit was featured in the Art section of the Syracuse Stars
Magazine
July 4th issue.
- The artist showcase
Cazenovia Counterpoint presented by the
Society
For New Music will feature prints from Maria Aridgides,
Bob Gates, Elisabeth Groat,
Rosalie Spitzer, Diana Whiting and
Jeanann Wieners. The prints are featured in various
exhibit venues in Cazenovia. An Art Exhibit Reception will be held
on July 17th at the
St. Peter’s
Episcopal Church Hall, Cazenovia from 4:30pm - 6:30pm.
- Diane Lansing is exhibiting
several Japanese themed prints at the
roji tea lounge
in Syracuse. Diane's prints will be displayed through the end of
August.
- Bob Gates will feature prints
at the
Gandee
Gallery. The exhibit A Sense of Place: The Real Central New
York Landscape starts on
October 15 and runs to November 21. An opening reception will be
held Saturday October 16th from 6pm - 8 pm.
- Bob Gates will feature prints
at the
Vermont Photo Space
Gallery, Essex Junction, VT. The juried exhibit Scene From
the Street starts on
December 13 and runs to mid-January. An opening reception will be
held Sunday December 18th at 3pm.
Notable Events:
- Syracuse Camera Club Annual Fundraiser. The SCC members will
offer cards, framed and matted prints to be sold with proceeds
benefiting the SCC general fund. The fundraiser will be held at the
May Memorial
Unitarian Church* on Wednesday April 7th from 7pm - 9pm.

Heart of New York.
- Diana Whiting - 2nd Place
(Amateur), Wood Ducks -
Audubon Magazine Jan/Feb 2010 for The Big Picture photo
contest and 2nd Place (Amateur), Cedar Waxwing -
National Wildlife Federation 2009 Photo contest. These
accomplishments were highlighted in the
Syracuse Post Standard on January 15th.
- Bob Gates and Chris
Murray for images published in the Jan/Feb 2010 issue of
the Central New York Magazine for the 2nd annual
Celebrate Central New York photo contest. The image
American Bison submitted by Bob Gates was awarded the Grand
Prize. The magazine is
available locally at public libraries and bookstores.
- Bob Gates - Grand Prize for the
image Suspicious, Winter at the
Zoo
Photo Contest, February 2010.
- Elisabeth Groat - Merit Award
in the Architecture/Interiors category for the image Abandoned
Railway Station, Castorland, Lewis County, NY, published in the May 2010 issue of
Color Magazine
for the Single Issue photo contest.
- Bob Gates - The image No
Escape printed
in the May 2010 issue of
Shutterbug magazine,
page 14.
- Kate Zacharewski - 2nd Place
for the print Into the Night entered into the
Oswego Art Association Annual Juried Art and Exhibition.
- Leonard Levy - The image
Nice Kitty was used on the cover for the July 2010 (Vol. 164
No. 7) issue of the
Archives of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine journal.
- Jeanann Wieners - The image
Mostly Sunny With a Chance of Occasional Bicycle was used on
the cover for the
July 11th issue of the Syracuse Stars Magazine.
- Kate Zacharewski was a winner
of a Merit Award in the
COLOR magazine
2010
Portfolio Contest. The winning photographs Reflected Decay,
Into The Night and Lock and Key are featured in the
November 2010 issue (Issue #10).
- The Syracuse Camera Club was
well represented at the New York State Fair Photography Competition
and Exhibit. A total of 22 prints were selected from nine SCC
